Hello,

New to the webstie and looking for some guidance.  I have an 18 foot Regal Bowrider and have covered most of the st johns.  I would like to try an adventure to St Augustine via the inter coastal.

1) How long do you think it will take me to travel from my home port to St Augustine

2) Is it a safe trip on my size boat

3) Are there public docks in St. Augustine

4) Any obstructions along the way I should look out for?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Adam, where is your home port, Jacksonville?

We have heard many great reviews about the Municipal marina - http://www.staugustinegovernment.com/visitors/municipal-marina.cfm.

I would be coming from the Marina at Julington Creek....... Thanks for your help.
Adam, this is a great ride. Pretty straight forward, just follow the St. Johns to ICW. We run down to St. augustine all the time on jetskis. Once you pass the St. Augustine airport you will see some places to dock and eat if you want or take a picnic and just pull up any where on the shore. It will take a full day to go down and back from Julington Creek. If you have a trailer you might try just putting in on the ICW and save some travel time.

How many hours each way?  Any obstructions to be concerned about?

Thanks for the help!

No obstructions on the way. I would say plan on 4-5 hours each way. You have to go north to the ICW before you even start south. You can get gas at Beach Blvd if you think you may need it. Where the river and ICW meet there is a long no wake zone.
One last question.... anywhere I can dock overnight?
