We love Ft. George and the inlet. There are plenty of places to raft-up. The kids love the beach. Aquapalooza sets up there every year.
Fort Geaorge is nice, we used to go with our runabout. Do you raft up there often? Do you go much in the winter? I mean a normal winter!! We love being able to let the dog ru to her hearts content on one of the sandbars in the middle.
We try to go when it is warm. Last year we were there as early as february. Over the spring and summer we try to get there a few times a month. The kids love the sandbars too.
What kind of boat do you have? We also go to Kingsley Lake at Camp Blanding. We have a recreation membership and enjoy overnighting there. It is so quiet and dark. Plus sandy white bottoms and fresh clear water. We call it Economy Lake-it's only 12 miles from our house and only three miles across. Don't burn much gas getting there and can't burn it while you are there!! How old are your kids? Ours are 19 and 16 and don't like to hang with mom and dad any more. Wanna do an overnight some weekend? I am gonna cruise the river this w/e, hit the riverwalk for lunch and then maybe Whitey's for dinner? Oh, I have a Trojan cabin cruiser.

We have an 18' bowrider. I haven't been to Kingsley in years. Not since Stricklands was open and had the jump towers and slides. We cant really overnight on the boat but we are open to some tent camping.
our kids are 7 , 4 and, 1
We could camp tied up to the shore on the Little Talbot Island side of the inlet. If you like camping, you might like to look into a nice camping club I found online. http://www.neflcc.com/ They have campouts at least once or twice a month . This weekend a few of us (a light turnout) are going to Goldhead state park near Keystone. Look for the Small white travel trailer that looks like a Giant TIC TAC- that'll be us!!!
