Hello, I'm planning my annual 3-4 day cruising trip. I plan to go in Jan. I
usually spend 3 -4 days on the water, cruising and anchoring or tying up
overnight at a restraunt if they let me. For example, last year I launched in
Palatka, spent one day cruising to Outback Crab Shack, then next day to Silver
Glenn Springs, then back to Palatka.
This time, I'd like to work more fishing into it, so I'm considering either
Palatka to Rodman Res, and anchor there for a couple of nights, or perhaps going
north to Fern Beach, Cumberland Island, etc.
Keep in mind that I will be single handing, and my boat is a 21 ft single screw
diesel / rudder type, and drafts 3 ft. so it is not as manuverable as an
outboard or IO. So I have to be careful that I don't get in a situation I can't
manuever out of myself. I'm concerned about the Buckman Lock and whether Rodman
lends itself to achoring overnight and moving around looking for fish.
Does anyone have any advice for me regarding either Rodman or the FB/Cumberland
idea?
Thanks,
Steve
