- After considering kayaking for years, I convinced my wife and step-daughter to join me for an Eastern Mountain Sports 'Yak Attack' event that took place close to home a little over a year ago. We got to try out multiple boats, realized we could actually do it and even enjoy ourselves, ultimately ending up buying a used kayak for each of us. We enjoy taking the boats to our local lake for a 1-hour exploration whenever we have some extra time, and have also dropped in at other locations within a couple hours reach.
